Downton Abbey Third Movie Confirmed as Final Chapter, Filming Starts Soon

Jim Carter, the famous actor and star of Downton Abbey, recently revealed that one of the long-lasting drama series will have a final chapter as a third movie.

The actor has garnered much publicity, including four nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

He also revealed that the cast of the third Movie will start filming next month and that the series will soon end on the period drama Forever.

Jim was joined by his wife, Imelda Staunton, at the event, where she also revealed that the drama series Downton Abbey is getting a “final” chapter.

However, the actress played Mary’s lady-in-waiting Lady Maud Bagshaw in the first two films and confirmed that a third film is in the works.

Jim, one of the fan-favorite characters who played the beloved butler Carson, said, “We start filming in five weeks’ time. What can I tell you about the new Downton film? Very little, really. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but we can say it will be the last Downton film.

“They are still tinkering with the script. All the favorite characters and some new ones will be there for a bit of fun. I can say, and I don’t think I am giving anything away, but we will be filming some of it in Harrogate, my hometown.”

He further added, “I have done 52 episodes and two films, and the third one starts filming in five weeks. You heard it first here. I am not bored of talking about it.

“Downton Abbey is a phenomenon. I did not really enter into it with any great ambition or hope because it was done by ITV, and ITV had no track record in doing period drama.”

The actor said while enjoying a quiz on stage at Brighton Palace Pier with his wife, Imelda Staunton.

“When it (Downton) opened in America, it went through the roof. This was brought home for the second season, and we were taken to the British ambassador’s residence in Washington, where the great and the good were.

He added, “They behaved disgracefully and were tearing at us as if we were the Bay City Rollers….no Bananarama! he continued.

“At 10 pm at night, a fleet of shiny black limousines took us for a private tour of the White House because we were Michelle Obama’s favorite program.

“The Obamas had gone to bed as they had a big reception that evening, but their housekeeper showed us around. We went into the situation room where they watched the capture of Bin Laden.”
