Fans eagerly await the release of Amazon MGM Studios‘ upcoming sports film ‘Challengers‘ starring Euphoria Star Zendaya with Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor.
The 33-year-old actor Josh O’Connor, who played Patrick Zweig in this film, opened up about filming a spicy three-way scene in Challengers. Zendaya’s co-star shares his experience filming intimate scenes in Challengers threesome.
As the story of the film follows the story of a girl named Tashi Duncan till the character played by Zendaya. Zendaya, the young prodigy, finds herself in the middle of a very intense love triangle with two of her teammates.
If you’ve seen the film’s trailer, you may have noticed that the trailer alone features steamy scenes, and the film’s writer Justin Kuritzkes told Variety:-
“Tennis, by its nature, is a very erotic sport… It’s very sexy,” “I quickly realized he meant it literally.”
While commenting on the relationship between the players, O’Connor admitted that he didn’t really know how to label the sexuality of his and Feist’s characters, he said:-
“I think they’re everything,” “I think it’s Platonic and non-Platonic. I think they’re obsessed with each other. I think it’s stronger than love – we need each other in order to feel complete.”
“There are a number of aspects that make any scene work. I do think that trust in your other actors is vitally important, and that can be with things that are intimate like a three-way kiss or just generally doing any scene.”
Not long ago, As per Vanity Fair Reports, Josh O’Connor has revealed what the filming of the scene was like recalling the Behind the Scenes he Talked-About Threesome and said:-
“Luca had a very clear idea of what happens on the bed,”
“The idea of me and Mike, with Zendaya in the middle—this idea that it’s kissing, kissing, and then it turns into this three-way kiss—and then suddenly Mike and I are kissing. That was very clear. We all kind of figured out, how are we going to do this? How does this work?”
He also added:-
“There is an element of improvisation with it. It was fairly organic,”
“We did little things, like, when they’re sitting on the floor and she goes onto the bed, I was up in a flash and not holding back. That came from us knowing our characters well, and knowing the dynamics between the three of us.”
The upcoming American romantic sports comedy-drama film is set to be released on April 26, 2024, by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and is Available to Watch on Amazon Prime Video.
